As mentioned earlier, we can not mix God's grace with false faith without frustrating the Spirit of the Lord. Listen up all you wonderful children of God. Jesus loved you when you were His enemies. How much more do you think He loves you now? Quit listening to these teachers who are like the storm that wrecked Peter's faith in Jesus. They tell you that the disease, pimples, unemployment, flat tires, dandruff, lack of fine clothes and high paying job are because of your sin of a bad confession or lack of faith--BUT THEY ARE WRONG.
GOD LOVE US AND WE HAVE GOT TO TRUST HIM REGARDLESS OF OUR SITUATION. The reason "bad" things happen to us is because 1) we are living in an imperfect, fallen creation, 2) in carnal bodies which God has destined to die so we can receive new ones when we go to be with Him, AND 3) for a witness of our faith! That's right, bad things even come as an opportunity for a witness to the world of our unconditional trust in God.
The greatest man of faith in the entire Bible is Job, yet he is the center of much ridicule from today's false faith teachers. Job goes against everything the faith teachers teach. This is why they try to run him down and malign his holy reputation. Job, the man who had everything imaginable go wrong in his life, made the greatest statement of faith in the entire Bible. Job's declaration of faith in the midst of his stormy trials was "THOUGH HE [GOD] SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST HIM" (Job 13:15).
Did things go bad in Job's life because he lacked faith? No, just the opposite. It was because he was the most righteous, faithful man on earth (Job 1:1,8) that God allowed these things to happen to him.
Job loved God and knew God loved him.
Therefore he TRUSTED the Lord completely even if the Lord were to slay him! Job had the same life and death faith as Abraham when Abraham offered his son upon the altar. But Job offered himself--just as God did in the person of Jesus Christ.
The Lord allowed all the terrible things to happen to Job because the Lord knew that Job was a great man of faith and could take it. The trials were only the testing ground for a shining testimony of faith and trust in God.
Through Job's story, we can see that while in the flesh we might think the trials of our faith are "bad,' they are really "good' because they, by our resultant testimony to the world, speak out loudly that God's love can see us through any storm of life.
Be of good cheer, Christian friend. Your situation is your opportunity for victory. How can you have a victorious life without battles? Jesus does not promise divine health and heaven on earth. He promises battles, victories, and testimonies, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptation; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing" (James 1:2-4).
The scriptures tell us that God does not tempt us with evil in James 1:13, but many have misused this verse. This scripture tells us God does not tempt us with SIN, but that has nothing to do with the testing of our faith by circumstances of life (Matt. 5:45).
God tempted Abraham, "And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham" (Gen. 22:1). Sickness, for example, is not necessarily evil any more than spanking one's child is evil. To the carnal, fleshly child any discomfort is "evil" but to the mature spiritual man we can see how discomfort and suffering are GOOD sources of maturing (Heb. 5:7-8; 12:5-12; I Cor. 11:32).
Be of good cheer, Christian. The false faith teachers' formulas don't work because they are wrong, not you. Their teachings are destroying your faith (trust) in God and His word, not building you up. The Lord wants us to trust Him in perfect love, without fear and doubting--no matter what.
